Start of the New Year

Hello 2024! I just got back from a cruise in the western Caribbean and have to say the wether was a lot nicer than it is here in Montana at the moment. Yesterday was -30 F! I topped off all the feeders and had a whole bunch of birds happy to see me. All of them were poofed up and trying to stay warm.

While I was away I was able to add some new “Lifers” to my list. Outside of Australia and Canada, my only foreign travel has been around the Caribbean. Last year I didn’t really see many birds around the Bahamas, but there has also been a lot of weather at that time too.

I hope to make 2024 a great year in birding. This will be my 4th year as a Montana Certified Naturalist. Project FeederWatch is going strong at the house, and I really hope to be able to make it out for some really great birding adventures this year. My eBird has been a daily recording (Although, one day at sea on the cruise ship it was raining and there were no birds to be found. Not even any brown boobies).

Stay tuned to the blog, the YouTube channel, and other social media. I hope to make this my biggest year ever and share it with all my followers. If you are in the area of Northwestern Montana, and want to go birding, hit me up. If I am free it would be great to get out and see more birds. If just looking for tips and advice, send me those DM’s on Instagram.

Let’s go 2024!
