The other morning while I was out for breakfast, I saw a bird on top of a light making a real long and varied song. But I couldn’t identify if like I can my Montana birds. Texas is a totally new birding area for me.
I didn’t have any binos to get a closer look, and nothing to help in recording the birdsong. The was too much traffic and chatter to get a good clip of audio to isolate.
Merlin gave me a good identification of two birds. But I just can’t be sure. What I have learned is; carry an optic, and it takes practice to be a well rounded birder in all the different parts of America let alone the world.
